Why

Findnursingschools.com was a url owned by Orbis Education that had become out-of-date and inactive as project priorities shifted over time. When the marketing department was looking for ways to diversify student engagement findnursingschools.com was resurrected to help the cause. I was fortunate to lead the design of the new site and digital advertising.

Goals

My goals were to revamp the branding and visual design of the site based on the original logo, implement a multistep form process, and incorporate a new long form blog post I had recently designed. I wanted the social and Google Discovery ads to visually capture a feeling of optimism and opportunity while maintaining consistency with the site design.

Deliverables

The site was designed and prototypes were created in Adobe XD. Screen layouts were created for the home, interior, blog hub, blog post, and multistep form pages in desktop, tablet, and mobile sizes. The social and discovery ads were created inside Photoshop and stock photography was used to show a diverse set of nurses.

The Final Design

Microsite Design

The site was designed around a simple and clean layout that allows the content to shine while still allowing the call-to-actions to be accessible and easy to use.

For the visual design, I adopted the cool color pallet from the existing site design, but added new condensed heading styles and a rounded, readable body text style. Several common page elements such as buttons, links, tables, bread crumbs, pagination, and callouts were created and displayed on the interior pages.

These elements, and styles such as colors and fonts, were specified inside XD's style library and page elements were created as re-usable components. This approach established a design system that could be shared, edited and referenced from one place.

Check out the desktop, tablet, and mobile prototypes below.

Ad Designs

The social ads incorporated the same color pallet as the microsite and used a map pin icon as a photo container that further drove home the purpose of the site - finding nursing schools in your area. The ads are simple, upbeat, and help to create a cohesive experience as a user transitions from viewing the ad to viewing the microsite. The three square ads were used on social channels and the rectangular ads were used for Google Discovery campaigns.
